Hidden amidst the stunning countryside of Ibiza, there’s a little gem called Can Tía. It’s not just any farm, though – it’s a labor of love owned by Bernat, a true-blue Ibicenco farmer. This farm is all about 100% organic goodness and is run by none other than Bernat, a proud Ibicenco farmer who’s dedicated his life to the land. Picture this: Bernat working his socks off, literally 24 hours a day, but loving every minute of it. He fell head over heels for the consistency, calmness, and natural rhythm that comes with working on his beautiful farm.
The land is well-maintained and organized, and Bernat takes pride in growing his veggies 100% organically, using only certified plants. That means no chemicals or unnatural products here. Just pure, wholesome goodness, straight from the earth. On this farm, you can find an array of vegetables that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Leeks, avocados, oranges, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, and soon, even pumpkins! Can Tía is a veggie paradise!
Bernat isn’t alone in this farming adventure. His 80-year-old father, a wise old soul, lends a hand and has his own grape garden on the farm. It’s a family affair, and together they make Can Tía thrive. It is more than just a farm. It’s a testament to Bernat’s passion, determination, and love for his island. With each veggie that grows, he’s sharing a piece of Ibiza’s natural beauty with the world. When you visit Can Tïa, you’ll be greeted by fields bursting with color, the sweet scent of fresh produce in the air, and Bernat himself, radiating good vibes.
During our visit at Bernat, Bernat led us through the farm, showing us every corner of his beautiful paradise. He picked fresh zucchinis, still warm from the sun, and shared his vision for the future. Bernat’s farm isn’t just a business, but a testament to the values of hard work, dedication, and love for the land. It’s a place where nature thrives, and where the produce is as fresh and pure as the air that surrounds it. Thanks to the support of Banc De Terres D’Eivissa, Bernat has an extra piece of land in San Antonio, which he plans to use to expand his vegetable farm. While it’s not yet in use, he’s excited to begin planting and growing even more veggies next winter season.
Now, let’s talk markets! in 2020, Bernat and others saw an opportunity by starting an open-air market in San Antonio, bringing the farm fresh to the people. It’s still a lively place where locals and visitors alike can connect with the land, meet the farmers, and load up on the tastiest organic produce around. Let’s just say that the market is the place to be on Fridays and Saturdays.
So, next time you’re strolling through the markets in San Antonio, keep an eye out for Can Tía. Stop by, say hi to Bernat, and fill your basket with the freshest, tastiest, organic veggies you can find. It’s not just about the food; it’s about supporting a local farmer who’s doing things the right way and being a part of a community that’s all about bringing the best of the land to your table. Let’s go!
